THE FEDERATION OF GAY GAMES

June 1994

Dear Athletes, Artists, Volunteers and Friends:

The Federation of Gay Games would like to welcome you to the greatest amateur athletic and cultural event in the world this year, "Unity '94:" Gay Games IV and Cultural Festival.

As the parent organization and international governing body of the Gay Games, the Federation is proud to continue the dream which began twelve years ago with Gay Games I in San Francisco. The Gay Games stand on the principle of inclusion. Any person regardless of age, race, ability, sex, sexual preference or HIV status is encouraged to strive for their own personal best. We are aware of the important and precious task that has been entrusted to us as the Games continue to grow and develop. Without each and every one of you it would not be possible.

Please join us in acknowledging and thanking New York in '94, together with New York's entire Gay and Lesbian Community for keeping the hopes and dreams of the worldwide Gay Games movement alive with their production of Gay Games IV. We also thank New York in '94 for continuing to grow these quadrennial Games into an event truly representative of our global community's rich diversity.

We thank each of you for joining in this celebration. We hope each of you will be able to enjoy as many of the sporting and cultural events as possible this week. We also hope you will carry a piece of your Gay Games experience home with you to share with friends and family. It is an experience unlike any other.

The dream continues in 1998.

Very Warmest Regards,

Susan Kendy
